Students in the Midwest are applauding science teacher, Steve Belliveau during his fast paced and informative assemblies. Combining science and magic he uses entertainment and scientific principles to teach them. Traveling through 11 Midwestern states, he performs over 300 School Assemblies each year. He has has also taught several labs in Chicago at The Museum of Science and Industry as well as the Argonne National labs. His program has been recognized by the Chicago Tribune and WGN TV for excellence."Kids and science are my passion" says Steve Belliveau. "For me, science is fun and exciting. I want kids to see that science is more than a dry textbook with boring charts and reports. I use hands-on demonstrations that engage the students during my 45 minute assemblies. I want to help them not only understand the basic principles they are currently learning, but to stimulate a passion for the amazing world of science." He has presented scientific methods in an entertaining assembly forum for over 20 years. His School Assemblies are recognized by Professional teaching associations.
When asked what a school or museum needed to have available for one of his assemblies Steve Belliveau, the assembly leader replied "Nothing other than a room large enough to seat their students. I bring with me a professional sound system, posters and teachers guides, a large viewing screen and camera equipment for larger spaces. I use my own props and equipment that are easy for the audience to see. The point of my demonstration is to teach kids how things work in an entertaining way. With music, comedy and hands-on demonstrations I engage the kids with a fast paced learning experience."
Belliveau continued "Based on the age of the students and what theme a school requests, I tailor the show to the audience. If your science department is teaching about mechanical science we can present a learning experience that involves friction, pulley systems, levers and more. We have topics ranging from Chemistry, Astronomy, Energy conservation and how to develop Inductive and Deductive Reasoning skills. We also have a series of workshops designed for a hands-on experience, with every student participating in a series of experiments."
In the most recent PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) test, America ranked 36th out of 60 countries in science. Belliveau's Getting Excited About Science School Shows change the way kids think about science. "We need to change the perception our students have about science. We believe the next generation of pioneering American scientists are in our Science Assembly."

Getting Excited About Science was established in 1994 by Steve Belliveau. He has a bachelors of science in Engineering Applied Science and is a member of the National Science Teacher's Association. Belliveau has appeared on television and radio programs and in several newspapers. Using engaging teaching methods Getting Excited About Science presents over 300 shows annually, across 11 states.
