GEEO offers travel to exotic locations, including Bali and Lombok. Summer travel is booking fast, so educators are encouraged to explore their options immediately.

Traveling to exotic countries and being able to meet with the people who live there on a one-to-one basis is something of which many educators dream, but they often have little or no opportunity to make those dreams come true. Now, with the help of Global Exploration for Educators, a non-profit organization, teachers and other educators can take advantage of the opportunity to travel to Bali and Lombok, two countries noted for incredible experiences for travelers.

As seen at http://www.geeo.org/tours/BaliLombok/, the Bali and Lombok tours feature snorkeling, floating palaces and temples and secluded waterfalls in the hills of the Gili Islands. Teachers will experience both guided tours and private exploration time as well as meet the locals and gain insight into their way of life. This trip is planned in collaboration with the University of Washington’s Southeast Asia Center and is available to educators who are willing to plan and incorporate lesson plans using the material they have learned in their teaching practice.

This trip is scheduled from July 25 to August 7. The trip includes beach time in Candidasa, a temple visit in Lake Bratan, a trip to the highlands of Kintamani, local meal experiences, waterfall visits, a rice paddy walk and free time on the beaches. Tour leaders will guide participants through all activities and locals will interact with the teachers to give them better insight into teaching practices in these foreign countries.

GEEO offers discounted teacher travel as seen at http://www.geeo.org/mission/ and travel opportunities for teachers as seen at http://www.geeo.org/share-your-adventure/. For more information on discounted teacher travel, visit the GEEO website.
