A dangerous tree is an unstable tree that, if and when its trunk or branches should fall in an out-of-control manner, will probably damage a building, roof, fence, power line, and/or vehicles, and be a danger to people and animals.Trees are known to grow along side buildings (see photo), next to fences, into power lines, onto roofs and gutters, at weird angles, and eventually to push into adjoining structures and trees. This makes removing them without damaging the property difficult and risky. But Foothills Tree Experts owner, Kevin Walker of Fort Collins, says he is always able to determine how to remove a dangerous tree safely.

Having the right equipment for the job actually makes his company more cost-effective, including a newly acquired 4-wheel-drive bucket truck. “We can go into almost any terrain to remove or prune a tree,” he says.
