During the summer of 2013, 4Patriots LLC decided to launch a new product – survival food. The 72-hour, one-week, four-week, three-month and one-year emergency food kits from Food4Patriots have shelf lives of up to 25 years, so it’s not necessary to periodically rotate stockpiles.
“Whether it’s extreme weather, cyber or physical attacks against the electric grid, accidents or even solar flares, there are many things that can cause a major disruption in the food supply chain,” Baler said. “When people have survival food ready and waiting, they have a way to take care of themselves and their families no matter what happens. The food in these kits can be prepared in less than 20 minutes and requires only boiling water. It’s contained in easy-to-store, space-age Mylar pouches – which keep out air, moisture and light – and tucked inside tough, stackable totes that are discreet and store anywhere… basement, attic, garage, shed, cabin or even an RV.
Over the past couple of years, additions to the Food4Patriots menu have included the Fruit, Veggie & Snack Mix, the Meat & Protein Kit, the Breakfast Kit, the Pizza Kit and the Survival Coffee Kit.
“Some people have chosen to taste their Food4Patriots meals right away – many of whom ordered more immediately – while others placed their survival food into long-term storage,” Baler said. “Either way, they now have food for themselves and their families should a disaster occur in their area.”
