The Exeter Brass Band will begin their summer concert series at the Exeter Bandstand on Water Street in front of Inn By The Bandstand. The next four concerts will be held on each following Monday, July 6, 13, 20, and 27. Concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Exeter Town Hall. The Brass Band will be conducted by Edward Flanigan, a long time member of the band. The Exeter Brass Band is said to be the oldest brass bands in continuous service in the United States. Since 1847 the Exeter Brass Band has been pleasing listeners with their music. The Band will play every Monday night through the month of July. There is a road closure on Front Street from Water to Court.
Every year residents collect around the Bandstand to enjoy the music. Water Street, Exeter’s main thoroughfare, is lined with small shops offering clothing, handmade candies, trendy gifts, books, New Hampshire-made crafts, children’s toys and more. A variety of restaurants are popular gathering spots for locals and tourists alike. Next to the Exeter’s classic bandstand, is the Inn by the Bandstand an 1809 historic home federal style townhouse, Bed and breakfast Inn.

In addition to the music, movies will be played at the Swasey Parkway few blocks away from Inn by the bandstand. The Inn is participating along with other downtown retailers in selling popcorn to raise funds for movie night every Thursday through August.
