With a $20,000 goal, the creators of Dropr have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in support of the launch of their portfolio platform. Dropr can host any type of media and provide an easy drag-and-drop solution for every type of creative to bring their work to desktop and mobile screens.

“We started building Dropr as students and managed to bring it up to an award-winning Beta version that’s already used by people from over 210 countries. After receiving a lot of great feedback we believe that Dropr is a tool that will really benefit artists all around the world. The $20,000 we are hoping to raise through Indiegogo would enable us to release Dropr 1.0 with support for new media types (including printable 3D), dead simple artwork sales that don’t take all your money and new, even more attractive portfolios.” - Noel Lynagh, Dropr co-founder.

Dropr is a minimalist yet feature-rich platform that can really bring all creatives together. They can share pictures, videos, music, text and even interactive art. And one of the goals of the Dropr Indiegogo campaign is to add full support for PDF and 3D files.

The Dropr platform lets users create beautiful and easy to manage portfolios which can be both created and updated in minutes. All portfolios are analysed by Dropr’s quality and similarity algorithms to suggest content to like-minded creatives across the network, which aids collaboration and increases exposure.

Dropr doesn’t feel like a social network; it is instead a “creative network”. Dropr revolves around artwork shared by the original creators, but not around the creators themselves, hence there are no profile pages. Every portfolio can be customised with a couple of clicks and when displayed can take up the whole window, whether browsing on a laptop or an iPhone.

Dropr’s creators believe that this combination of an easy and stunning interface with full mobile compatibility and support for every type of artwork imaginable can lead to Dropr becoming a new, truly “creative network” for the growing Creative Industries of the future.

“We created Dropr to be a platform for creatives built by creatives. We spent months talking to artists from around the world and implementing their feedback. Now we feel it’s a great moment to update this plan. We want Dropr to be the first platform built by creatives for creatives - and funded by creatives for creatives! This lets our entire community shape the platform for their needs.” - Mateusz Cyrankiewicz, Dropr co-founder.

Both founders, Mateusz Cyrankiewicz and Noel Lynagh studied Multimedia and have enjoyed successful early careers as freelance designers and developers. They will use the money raised by the campaign to complete the final version of the platform. All going well it will be released by the end of 2013.

The Indiegogo campaign ends on 20th of October 2013. To back Dropr visit http://igg.me/at/dropr/. To learn more and try the platform head to: http://dropr.com
