New Bedford, MA –Civic Support is an innovative grassroots initiative whose mission is to support community small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Founded in 2011, Civic Support was designed to offer those companies that build our communities the tools they need to create growth through sustainable organizational, technological and marketing solutions.

The mission of Civic Support is simple, “To provide resources, education and aid to small businesses and nonprofits that have been designed to strengthen economy, environment, public health and public education on the community level.” Civic Support accomplishes this mission by providing these organizations with their expertise at a low to no cost value. Civic Support helps community organizations reach their target audiences and achieve sustainable growth.

The website, http://civicsupport.org/, discusses how organizational strategies, web and technology development and outreach approaches can be used to help small community organizations make a big impact. Organizational strategies such as grant structuring, data collection and analysis, report writing, consulting and fundraising are offered to help keep administrative tasks in hand as an organization grows. Civic Support stays current on the latest trends in technology solutions, making it distinctly capable of providing website development (including content), graphic design, videography and online data collection systems. By providing services concerning social media, event planning, advertising, public relations and SEO, Civic Support helps community businesses deliver their unique messages to the public.

Civic Support was founded by Shonna Ryan and Kevin Pelissier, both Master's degree graduates of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. After noting that the demise of so many community organizations was due to an inability to market themselves, as well as their need for more time-efficient administrative practices, Ryan and Pelissier created civicsupport.org to help organizations develop the necessary tools to grow and maintain their efforts.

The website also spotlights local nonprofits, offers advice and trends and keeps visitors up-to-date on upcoming events and networking opportunities. Civic Support reinforces the efforts of diverse nonprofits such as the Center for University, School and Community Partnerships, Coastal Compassion, and the New Bedford Historical Society.
