Digital hacking forensic investigation firm CEO, Vinny Troia has commented on the information disclosed regarding two separate massive data breaches of voter records in multiple states. A total of 191 million voter records in the first database and 56 million in the second database were found in publicly accessible sites. It is unclear who is the owner of the information, but it appears to be detailed voting information and demographic information about millions of people.Mr. Troia points out that the information that was released is of a type that in most states are public records. There are a few elements which are protected by law in some states, and other which are not allowed to be either sold or visible outside of the United States. Some of the researchers who have looked at the contents of the virtually unrestricted information state that the database is likely to be a voter information file.
What is included in the database are such elements as full name, mailing and physical address, voter and state voter ID, date of birth and registration, and a contact phone number. A detailed voting history, political affiliation and a fields for prediction. The database does not contain social security numbers or driver's license numbers.
