Gallery Talk: Modern and Contemporary Collection [Tue 6/27] On Tuesday (06/27), Boca Raton Museum of Art invites visitors on a tour of the museum’s modern and contemporary collection, led by a gallery specialist. Guests will be able to learn more about the artists, media, and meaning of works on view. Entrance is free with Museum admission.


Carnival of the Animals [Thu 6/29] The Fort Lauderdale Children’s Ballet Theatre, sponsored in part by Dance Dimensions, presents “Carnival of the Animals” at the Broward County Main Library’s Theater on June 29th at 11am, and again at 1pm. The audiences are expected to enjoy a fully costumed performance, featuring music and dance. Families are welcomed to attend.


Earl David Reed [Thu 6/29] Critically-acclaimed comedian Earl David Reed will take the stage of Boca Black Box on Thursday June 29th. The comedian gained popularity after participating in notable TV comedy shows, including Show with Jay Leno, FOX’s Comic Strip Live and NBC’s Friday Night Videos.


Chicago & The Doobie Brothers [Fri 6/30] Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Chicago, together with Vocal Group Hall of Fame Inductees The Doobie Brothers will share the stage of Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre this June 30 at 7:30PM. The rock music veterans returned on the road for a co-headline summer tour, scheduled from June 7 to July 30.


Jazz at Moca [Fri 6/30] Friday (6/30), at 8:00PM, the progressive band, The French Horn Collective, will take part in The Museum of Contemporary Art’s monthly free outdoor “Jazz at MOCA” event. They gained recognition with a distinctive sound, mixture of Gypsy Jazz, Swing, and modern original French music.


Bring It! LIVE [Sat 7/1] Popular dance coach Dianna “Miss D” Williams, along with her team of dancers are returning to Miami by popular demand. The Dollhouse Dance Factory dancing teams will perform Saturday, July 1st , 8:00PM at Broward Center for the Performing Arts.


Downtown Walking Tour [Sat 7/1] Saturday, July 1st, for approximately two hours, starting from 11:00AM, Coral Gables Museum will host a “Downtown Walking Tour” with the goal of education people about the many facts of the popular business area and will bring the participators to historically-relevant sights of the district.


Vans Warped Tour presented by Journeys [7/2] The largest traveling music festival in the United States and the longest-running touring music festival in North America will take on the stage of Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre on Sunday, July 2nd, from 11:00AM to 8:00PM. The show will feature artists from many different genres, including rock, hip hop and reggae.


EXHIBITION: Glasstress Boca Raton [Tue 1/31 – Sun 7/2] The Boca Raton Museum of Art’s The cutting-edge exhibition of contemporary glass art will be over this Sunday, July 2nd. The museum invites guests to the largest presentation of the international Glasstress exhibition ever produced in the United States.


City Theatre’s Summer Shorts XXII [Thu 6/1 – Sun 7/2] America’s short play festival returned this summer with a series of ten-minute plays and mini-musicals. Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County welcomes audiences who want to celebrate the diversity of Miami through laughter, starring notable South Florida theatre actors. This season features a new collection of scripts, penned by famous playwrights, including Tony Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 21 CHUMP STREET.


Here are some other events, happening this week in Miami:


– Coral Gables Art Cinema will screen the post-apocalyptic movie “Stalker”.


– Sandrell Rivers Theater will host a free theatre performance of Cinderella, suitable for all ages.


– South Florida based musician VIRGO will have a performance at Sandrell Rivers Theater, accompanied by a virtual reality adventure set.


– Exhibitions: “Mediterranea: American Art from the Williford Collection” – the exhibition exploring the rich diversity of the Mediterranean region, is having its final week on display at Boca Raton Museum of Art.
