A major independent online ticket seller, Concertbank, has just made an announcement that has many people shaking their heads in bewilderment, but if it turns out to be correct, it puts them on the map as another leading indicator of musical insight. They are predicting that Don Henley, the popular Eagle’s band member and successful solo artist, will be the next big thing in the musical world – again. Don Henley, who is now sixty-eight years old, is about to release a new album that Bob Lefsetz calls “The Eagles album you’ve been waiting for.”
“It’s just not about who the recording studios think is hot anymore,” says a spokesman from Concertbank.” Today, musical success is defined by how the audience receives the artist and what kind of demand there is for the music. Henley was the co-lead vocalist and drummer for the Eagles from 1971 through 1980 when the band broke up. Then he rejoined the band in 1994 when “Hell Froze Over” and they got back together. He sang lead vocals on hits like “One of These Nights”, “Witchy Woman”, “Life in the Fast Lane”, and “Hotel California”. The Eagles become the biggest selling band in American history, and have sold 150 million records worldwide and won 6 Grammys.
In 1982, Henley released his first solo album called “Can’t Stand Still”, and is known for his hits like “The Last Worthless Evening”, “The Boys of Summer”, “All She Wants to Do is Dance”, and “The Heart of the Matter”. His album from the year 2000 “Inside Job” had such soulful hits as: “Everything is Different Now” and “This is My Thanksgiving” which capture some of the reflective and inward feel to some of his tunes.
