ConcertBank Announces That Despite Bono’s Injuries, More Shows are Being Added to the U2 Tour

When Bono was injured in a bike accident, many feared that U2's latest world tour would be canceled. But ConcertBank says that the demand for U2 tickets are at record levels. More shows are being added for the tour.

Los Angeles, CA, Feb. 10, 2015  With the announcement of additional dates in Chicago, iconic Irish rockers U2 have increased the number of shows in their upcoming Innocence + Experience world tour to nearly 50. In its original announcement of the tour back in December, the band confirmed 44 shows in 19 cities around the world. In recent days, U2 has added additional dates in sold out cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, London and Barcelona. There are rumors that the band is also considering shows in additional cities.

The new tour dates put to rest rumors that the U2 world tour’s start might be delayed due to front man Bonoís recovery from injuries suffered in a November high energy bicycle accident. The U2 singer suffered multiple fractures in that accident, causing the band to postpone a week-long residency on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. As the May start of the tour draws closer, it’s becoming clear that there will be no postponement. Instead, the band is primed to continue adding shows to the tour as long as demand for tickets remains high.

In contrast to many other concert tours, the U2 world tour has booked multiple shows in every city along its route, with some cities featuring as many as five nights of the bandís high-energy brand of rock. The shows will not simply be repeats, notes lead singer, Bono, who said in a statement, “We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two, more to be revealed!”

The U2 Innocence + Experience tour kicks off on May 14 in Vancouver, BC and features multiple dates in North America and Europe before ending in Paris on November 15.

Fans hoping to buy U2 tickets on the official tour site are being met with a disappointing sea of gray sold-out buttons for city after city. However, ConcertBank, a well-known online ticket broker, notes that tickets to most of the sold-out U2 shows are available through third-party ticket sellers and online ticket broker sites. The site advises that fans looking for U2 concert tickets check the inventories at ConcertBank.com frequently, as the inventory is updated constantly with new tickets and premium packages.
