Eagle-based marriage and family therapist Jay Robertson offers his knowledge and expertise working with kids, adults, and families. Dr. Robertson also offers Boundary Groups in his practice.

Jay Robertson, Ph.D., LMFT is pleased to announce that he is a licensed child therapy professional. The marriage and family therapist has accrued more than twenty years of experience working with adults, children, and families. The doctor's specialties with adults include marriage, codependency, boundary issues, relationship improvement, survivors of child abuse, grief, divorce recovery, depression, anxiety, anger, and spiritual growth. He also has had extensive experience with children's issues including grief, divorce adjustment, abuse/trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and aggression.

Dr. Robertson has had several years experience doing parent training as well as to help parents improve their relationship with their children. He can also provide family therapy for families who are willing to be seen together. This can provide insights into many problems that individual adult or child therapy may not.

Another beneficial service offered in his practice are Boundary Groups. These are DVD-driven educational experiences in which people come together in groups of 4-8 and learn about what healthy boundaries look like in relationships. Group members are free to share personal experiences if they wish, but it is not required. These sessions have been hugely successful in helping people achieve more satisfying relationships with family and friends. Dr. Robertson is also a certified Marriage and Family Clinical Supervisor and can help therapists in training gain valuable experience and hours toward licensure.

In a recent interview, Jay Robertson talked about his counseling philosophy, "During my counseling sessions, I try to provide a safe place for people to explore and discuss the troubling issues in their lives and relationships. This includes an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance at all times with the addition of tools/suggestions when necessary. I hope to not only help you develop new insights and a clearer understanding of what is happening with you but strive to help provide tools/skills to help you feel better, move forward and function at much higher levels."
