As a business that helps local Austin musicians essentially run their businesses by providing affordable cd production, it was a natural fit to ask CDMaker to be one of the several sponsors behind the 2nd Annual HAAM Jam Holiday CD published by Austin dentist, Shane Matt."Obviously a release like this requires a number of talented musicians, some saavy business and promotions folks all giving of their time and talents along with a little luck to make it all happen by the deadline. It was an honor to be asked and one that I was delighted to be able to respond to in a small way to help out as really good cause," said Carolyn Holzman, owner of CDMaker. "We produce music cds for many local musicians."
HAAM, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, provides much needed access to affordable health care for Austin's low-income, uninsured working musicians, with a focus on prevention and wellness.
With many of Austin musicians self-employed with no access to health insurance or basic health care, often they must work multiple jobs and struggle to pay for food, clothing and shelter, with nothing left for health care. And that's where The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians or HAAM comes in.
By resolving challenges such as long-neglected teeth to hearing loss, heart problems and depression, HAAM and its partners improve and save musicians' health and lives and enhance Austin's economy and quality of life. Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World, and they aim to keep it that way.
What started out as a simple idea in the brain of Austin dentist Shane Matt This is the 2nd release of a holiday CD. The first year's album raised over $10,000 to help fund the Alliance's work.
Shane Matt, a provider to HAAM, went above and beyond to start what he modestly says was simply asking the musicians he knew to donate a track and it snowballed from there. He has been the moving power behind the scenes making sure this endeavor continues.

The 2nd Annual Holiday HAAM Jam, major sponsor, Fiat of Austin, includes songs from Guy Forsyth, Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel, White Ghost Shivers, Carolyn Wonderland, and Clint Black among many others.
100% of the proceeds go to support the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) with a fundraising goal of $25,000, topping the $10,000 raised by the 2011 album.
"Being a former musician myself and struggling with how to just see a doctor when I was sick not to mention regular dental care, I know how it comes down to a matter of priorities of funds. Austin gets a lot of attention for the music that comes out of our wonderful city and this is a way to put words into action to support musicians with their basic health needs," continued Holzman.
