Dynamic Window Tinting have declared war on ultra violet radiation. They are implementing an education program that will share with Perth car and home owners how they can save thousands of dollars by minimising UV damage from the Western Australia weather.

I’ts a sign of the times that the weather in Perth, Western Australia is getting hotter. It is commonly understood that ultra violet (UV) radiation can cause sunburn as well as skin cancer, however there is another side effect that goes quietly unnoticed, and that is the damage UV does to cars and homes. One Perth business aims to bring this information to the forefront of the community.

Paul Stojkoski from Dynamic Window Tinting took note of the extreme weather Perth has been encountering so far in 2015. This has recently culminated with Perth recording its warmest June on record. Being an expert in the window tinting industry, Paul has observed first hand the damage that harmful UV radiation has caused withing vehicles, commercial buildings, and residential homes.

Paul commented ” I’ve seen thousands of dollars in loss due to the long term effect of UV radiation coming into contact with unprotected assets”. For cars, the main areas of concern are dashboards, upholstery, and seats which dry out, crack and fade rendering them useless. The main cause is direct UV radiation, intensified by the glare of the windshield and build up of heat within the vehicle which draws out all of the protective moisture. Within the home, items directly adjacent to windows are also subject to the same type of damage for the same reasons.

The team advised that UV damage can be mitigated within the car with the use of a dash mat, and regular application of a leather or plastic rejuvenation product. Similarly within the home, rejuvenation products will assist as will the regular rotation of furniture that comes into direct contact with UV radiation.

For a totally hands free solution, and to bring the fight directly to counter UV damage, Paul advises that for Perth window tinting is the only answer. There are 4 main types of film being used today being dyed, metalised, carbon and ceramic. In Pauls opinion, the best choice hands down is the carbon window tint film. This type of film is widely regarded as the most versatile as it doesn’t interfere with cell phones or radio transmissions (due to a lack of metal), blocks approximately 40% of infrared light (the type that causes heat) and unlike dyed film will not fade over time.
