The last few years has seen a rise in the theft of vehicles as the recession bites and some people turn to crime. Cars are now being stolen to order, especially prestige or rare vehicles and sometimes even the most technological ant-theft devices are being defeated.The problem is, many of the latest cars use a technical solution based on some very clever electronics and once these electronics are defeated once, they can very often be copied and used to steal other, similar vehicles. Although the manufacturers believe they have the ideal solution to the problem of stolen cars – owners are left picking up the pieces.
Avonstar decided to do something about it and have come up with a solution that is both simple and effective in its execution – a simple metal parking post. Astute readers may be forgiven for thinking this is a step back in time, however it has proven such a hit with people that they’re beginning to up production just to keep ahead of demand.

When positioned on a drive or in a car part, a parking security post makes it impossible to get the car out without it getting damaged. If a prestige car is being stolen to order then obviously they need it to be in mint condition so they won’t risk damaging anything on the bodywork.
Likewise, opportunist thieves (the most common type) will look for the vehicle to steal if they’re looking for a cheap ride home. A house or business with a security post blocking access and exit from the car par or drive will stop them even thinking about it.
Of course, as well as the solid construction, it’s essential that the posts are bright so they act as a deterrent. By far the best solution is for people not to even attempt to steal the vehicle, so Avonstar have made sure all their parking posts are a bright-yellow colour to hopefully deter any would-be thief before they even think about driving off.
