This lengthy residency is the longest and most thorough type available in the field. Only about fifteen percent of podiatric residencies are this long. The period of residency included training in Primary Podiatric Medicine, Forefoot Surgery, Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, Diabetic Wound Care and Limb Salvage, Sports Medicine and Biomechanics.
Dr. Wittenberg has been associated with Chatham Foot Specialists in Chicago and Fallon Clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts. These two practices provided Dr. Wittenberg with a wide array of procedure exposure. This experience has been carried into the focus at Apache. The attention to sports-related injuries and wound care improves the outlook for patients with many types of injuries.
