Former Boise State University Football Captain and local businessman, Nick Schlekeway, has been named one of the state’s “Accomplished Under 40” by the Idaho Business Review. Selected from hundreds of nominees, the recipients at the 15th annual event were publicly recognized for their accomplishments and “On the rise status” in the business community.

“‘These young professionals are talented and have risen head and shoulders above others, already proving they are successful in their careers and continuing upward,’ said Sean Evans, Vice President and Publisher for Idaho Business Review. ‘These are the people shaping our state, our expectations and our future,’.”

The Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40 event was sponsored by Boise State University’s College of Business and Economics. The Dean of the College of Business, Ken Petersen, was a guest speaker at the June 26th Event. “It is important to point out that these members of our community aren’t even middle age yet. To be accomplished at this age is quite remarkable. Given these recipients’ steep professional trajectories; I hold great hope for their accomplishments over 40!” In Addition, Mr. Petersen, former client of Nick Schlekeway, specifically highlighted him as an example of the type of forward thinking & determined young professionals who would push the Boise, Idaho economy and business community to new heights of achievement.

Mr. Schlekeway is the co-founder of the fastest-growing Residential and Commercial Real Estate Company in the State of Idaho, Amherst Madison. This accomplishment is no surprise to those who know him and have witnessed his previous successes at the highest levels of academics, sports, and public service. In 2007, Boise State University head coach, Chris Petersen, was quoted; “Schlekeway is one of our top leaders. He leads by example every day. He shows up ready to go to work and is extremely intense. If the rest of the guys can become as intense as he is, we are going to win a lot of games.”

Mr. Schlekeway was a Team Captain, All Conference Athlete, and Academic All American at Boise State University. After that, he was hired # 1 out of over 1500 applicants to be a full-time firefighter for the City of Boise. As the son of an entrepreneur and commercial contractor, his lifelong desire for business ownership drew him to the real estate industry and in only his second year started designing the brokerage concept that would become Amherst Madison.

Nick now serves on the Boise State Alumni Board of Directors and is heavily involved in local charity work through Amherst Madison’s Charity Partner, The Black Door. He also attends, participates, and helps to raise funds for numerous local events/causes including, recently, the Make- A-Wish, Ultimate Urban Challenge event. The Ultimate Urban Challenge is an annual event held in Boise, Idaho for the benefit of Make A Wish Children.

While designed for a national footprint, Amherst Madison is building its momentum locally with offices in Meridian and Eagle with plans to expand to Boise in the near future. Their business model is built on a philosophy of high standards and an intelligent support structure for Agents. Amherst Madison takes traditional brokerage philosophies, such as Agent Mentors and Listing Support, and leverages them with the latest in digital Productivity and Efficiency tools. Amherst Madison operates on a 100% digital platform with all of the one-on-one support that a top producer would expect from a full-service brokerage. Currently, the company is growing at 300% every six months and will likely continue this growth as additional Agents and Brokerage Operators see the benefits of affiliation and alignment with Amherst Madison.
